Tasseography patch

$10.00

Tasseography is the study of coffee grounds and/or tea leaves for the act of divination. It is a practice that has been passed down through the women on my Armenian side of the family and was taught to me by my mother, she from her mother, and so on. As I would watch my Nana read the coffee grounds from the Armenian coffee prepared for family and friends, I would notice how often times she would see what she would want to say. These patches say some of the things I want to see in the world; I hope you do too.

50% of proceeds from the “Free Palestine” patches goes to the Center for the Study and Preservation of Palestine

“Our mission is to demand justice through Preservation, Education, Arts, Culture & Community/Civic Engagement. We hope to build an archive of physical resources as well as an online gateway for those who wish to study current events aswell as the evolving culture and history of Palestine and her diverse and pluralistic society. We offer our NE Portland location as an event space to share the multi-disciplinary artwork and stories of Palestinians from around the world. Lastly, we wish to support independent Palestinian research and scholarship and also produce a peoples’ journal that represents a counterpoint to existing academic publications and provides a platform for personal Palestinian experience.” – CSPP

Please note that all patches are printed on reclaimed fabric, and the patch you receive may not reflect the example photos. Include a note with your order for preferences and I will try to do my best to accommodate, but there are no guarantees as the fabrics change often.
